In this series at incredible snaps you are going to see the amazing pencil carving of Cindy Chinn, he carved the beautiful elephant family in to a pencil and that looks great. His first pencil carving at this scale was a train and it went viral across facebook and internet. It was even telecasted on TV shows in Barcelona, his most elaborate design is the elephant walk commissioned by the Epiphany Elephant Museum. This design was started simple an elephant with the foil stamped logo the he carried it to an amazing level. He carved the train design using 5x diopter magnifying lamp and he bought a 10x diopter floor lamp. Still he feels like getting more detailed into it. He says “I bought a 90x Trinocular on an arm, which is basically a microscope that can be setup for a long field of working distance. I would never have been able to get the detail that I was able to get in the elephant’s skin or the baby’s trunk, which was REALLY crazy, hard to carve without breaking… I found myself holding my breath a lot”.
