1. Darkness is the hero
It is very important that you need a totally dark room; the shutter speed is irrelevant for the high speed photography because the photographers will use flash to freeze the action. If there is light in the room then it will result in blur image because of exposure on the frame, it will not look good to the viewing eyes.
2. Low is fast and high is slow
While setting your flash you must consider how high you turn your flash power. If you want to get more power on the flash gun at the higher power setting the longer pulse of the light will be emitted. This will create huge effect on your photography because the longer pulse light will end in less motion being frozen. To get good results use your flash on lowest power, if you need more power you can use another flash.
3. The speed sound is your friend also enemy
Will you use the sound sensor to trigger the flash? One of your highest consideration should be from how far the sound source your sound sensor device is. Closer to sound as much sooner the sound hits the device, the faster flash can fire. If you want to add slight delay before the flash fires then you must move the device away from the sound a little. If you move the device away the sound will take long time to hit the device and it will increase your delay.
